Visitors will arrive to the city of Cusco. Our staff will pick up the passengers at the airport for their transfer to the hotel.
The tour starts in the afternoon, from the city centre. The first stop is in the Plaza de San Cristóbal where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
Later, we will visit the San Pedro Market, an impressive traditional market where we will have the possibility to taste a great variety of dishes, fruits, vegetables, juices of the delicious Peruvian cuisine. A truly unforgettable culinary and sensory experience.
The route continues towards the Temple of Qoricancha, whose name in Quechua means «Golden Enclosure» due to its grandeur and its walls completely covered in gold.
We will know the Church of Santo Domingo. From here we will head towards San Blas, the artisans neighbourhood.
We will walk along Hatun Rumiyoc Street, where we will find the Palace of the Inca Roca, today the Archbishop’s Palace, and the world famous Twelve Angle Stones.
We will end the tour by visiting the Plaza de Armas to visit the Cathedral whose walls house a collection of priceless works of art.
The second day we will visit the ruins of Sacsayhuamán, an impressive Inca citadel located 2 kilometers from Cusco full of colossal constructions in the middle of an awesome landscape.
Next we will visit one of the most surprising ruins of Cusco, the Qenqo Archaeological Site , an enigmatic Inca fortress whose functionalities are still unknown today and that could have been used as an altar, grave or courting.
Finally we reach the watchtower of Puca Pucará and Tambomachay, an outstanding architectural monument considered one of the pillars of the Andean worldview.
Transfer to Cusco and free afternoon to enjoy the city, squares, markets, bars and the warmth of its inhabitants.
We will head to the train station of Poroy or Ollantaytambo depending on the season, where we will depart by train to Aguas Calientes to see one of the 7 Wonders of the World.
Our staff will meet us at the station to board the transport that will ascend to Machu Picchu along a road that offers us a spectacular view of the Urubamba River.
The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will welcome us with its incredible terraces, stairways, ceremonial precincts and urban areas. We can feel how the energy emanates from the whole place. After a guided tour, we will have lunch at one of the restaurants in the area.
At the coordinated time, we will return by train to Cusco and we will be transferred to the hotel.
